Labor Injunctions

The firm’s labor and employment lawyers assist clients in obtaining injunctive relief against unions for mass picketing, secondary boycotts and representational picketing. We have advised clients with respect to reserve gate, handbilling, public areas and solicitation issues.

Frequently, our attorneys have been called upon to mobilize resources from many of our offices to respond to picketing against multistate, multi-location clients. In these situations, speed is of the essence; we have been in court in the afternoon after being contacted in the morning to enjoin picketing.

Our experience includes:

  • Acting as national coordinating counsel for a large national retailer’s logistics arm in preparing for and anticipating national Teamsters picketing activity
  • Obtaining state court injunctions on behalf of a large electric utility to enjoin mass and violent picketing at its Pennsylvania generating plants
  • Obtaining injunctions throughout the eastern U.S. against the Teamsters, Electrical Workers, United Food and Commercial Workers, Service Employees, AFSCME, Steelworkers, Autoworkers, Machinists and various building trades unions
