Jay has a dynamic intellectual property practice, assisting clients with a full spectrum of intellectual property issues. He has specific experience in the areas of patents, trademarks, and copyrights, conducting patentability and trademark clearance searches and related opinions, infringement, validity and enforceability issues, patent and trademark preparation and prosecution as well as related licensing and branding strategies.

As a litigator, Jay has represented clients in trademark and trade dress infringement, dilution, unfair competition, and false advertising cases before state and federal courts.  He has also prosecuted and resolved domain name disputes involving registered trademarks, and has litigated inter partes trademark Opposition and Cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board (“TTAB”).

Prior to law school, Jay was a research scientist working on DNA fluorescent bio-probe technology and, later helped develop “Answer Quick and Simple” and “First Response” product lines.
